I suggest you try cable of slightly different lengths and see if it helps. I can’t imagine how many other customers have the same experience on that old model ONT. Whenever I ask one of these techs when they will finally make use of the ethernet ports on the STBs, they have no idea when or why I would want to use it. Yup, restarting the router and cable box. Start with 3″ like I did, but try other lengths – say, 5″ and 7″. If Verizon wants to compete with satellite and cable, they need to make sure any equipment problems are fixed immediately. This is a somewhat annoying bug. Do you already have an account?

The 1st 2 times they replaced the splitter and it worked. I have all 3 of their services and have been having trouble with no picture on the tv. I will continue to try to get hold of Verizon and maybe they can come out and check mine. I never paid much attention to it, because I never wanted to pay for anything on demand.

I am now thinking the issue is a deteriorating signal, either from the node in our neighborhood our the box outside our house.
Then this error message appeared:. If so, we had that a few weeks ago, in our case, it was happening on all TVs, so it wasn’t specific to one TV box, it moovie out to be the box on the outside of the house an Verizon replaced it for free since it was their hardware that was starting to fail. He said in order to use this new device, they had to replace a card at the central office that supports multiple customers so they cios don’t replace it unless multiple customers on the card are complaining.
I explained that I had invested 55 minutes of my life on this and was not investing any more time. While on hold, I did what every TV consumer would do in the same situation. Since the replacement was put in place, the VOD is flawless.
So we did, same results. Sometimes HD is pixlated or just not working. Others are experiencing the same problem I have — pixelation when accessing on demand.
Not even the pay-per-view movies are offered in HD.
* Verizon FiOS TV Problems
When I had a satellite box start overheating, DirecTV sent out a new one overnight. So, I could pause when a commercial starts, jump to the second show I was watching, resume and skip commercials, pause that, jump back to the first, etc. Then this error message appeared: Issue has also started in the family room, but is sporadic.
Jan 22, Messages: I can envision your hypothesis but isn’t what your describing better termed an impedance bump? Problem has gotten worse, now we are unable to get any channels. Ultimately, they came to our home to fix the problem, which is what I knew was needed all along.

Is anyone else having issues with some Verizon FIOS channels?
Started upstairs — point furthest away from the router — and Verizon sent me a new box after trouble shooting twice. You have to set up a schedule for each channel a show might be on. If your theory was true, imagine the nightmare for fios and cable installers that have to not use certain lengths of cable. Also, the non-HD “over the air” channels are usually fine too 4, 5, 7, and 9. I had to ask the rep what Verizon was going to do to make this very patient customer whole. On the whole we have been very satisfied with the bundle we received.
Calling them with that info cut to the chase of getting someone out, and the first thing the tech did when arriving was start testing that outside box.
We are having the same problem with our TV in the family room.
